Did someone else make a break? Whether it was a family member, close friend or partner, if this was not your choice, this offering could be a fit. Starting mid June, we’re offering this facilitated space of compassion, and self-connection. We’ll use sharing, listening and guided processes in our work.
Having walked our own journey, estranged from a dear family member for some years, we would like to empower participants to self-connect, be seen and heard, to mourn, to self-acknowledge, to reflect, and to be curious or empathetic. We’ll be sharing the aspects of nonviolent communication that supported us most to move from numbness, reactivity, despair to a place of beneficial mourning, acceptance, and new possibilities.
This will be a place where companionship can be found, and capacity to be present to one another. There will be opportunities to listen deeply to oneself and notice what may want to emerge. Limited places.
This course is intended for those who already have completed an introduction to NVC workshop or course eg our Communicate 4 Connection, Living and Speaking with Heart, or Bridging the Gap courses.
“When Close Ties Break ” is planned to run again in 2025 and will run for 5 weeks
The course is taught via Zoom online. A link will be sent when registration is received.
We plan the focus for the 5 sessions as follows:
Every session will include practices to resource ourselves. This includes Empathy for us. Self Connection, Self/care, and Self-Love practices.
- Mourning the Gap/s – Empathetic support to accompany pain/wounds of the path, practical requests for mourning, rituals, etc.
- Transforming Enemy Images – Support to transform our should thinking, and to see the other as caring for their needs as best they know how.
